When it came down to it, I found losing weight to be rather easy. I’ve said I wanted to lose weight since I was 16. However, I never made much progress, instead, my weight steadily increased as I got older.
I’d tried going to the gym but with little to no guidance I never got anywhere — I didn’t know what I was doing. I tried going on diets, but life at university was full of temptations.
Eventually, I resigned myself to the idea that my metabolism was just bad and I was never going to do it.
There are a few websites I always have open that I use to make a little bit of extra money each day. Some weeks I can earn as much as $300 extra.
The way I use these sites is alongside my freelance writing career which tethers me to my desk for most of the day. I regularly check the sites for new opportunities and I’m able to make good money doing it.
I wouldn’t recommend these as opportunities instead of a proper job but if you have the time to do them — there’s lots of money to be made.
When people started to flock to the platform to celebrate this hefty April bonus I was livid.
I wasn’t included in the handout and I took that personally. Of course, I didn’t really consider myself to be a top writer so why should I be mad?
I’m just mad cause I felt like I missed out. The screenshots of the emails all contained the phrase ‘a one-time bonus.’ So I read that to mean that this was a one-off and wasn’t going to happen again.
I suppose I was misled by the term ’one-time.’
Loads of writers got this bonus…
Wouldn’t it be nice to have extra income that doesn’t take up a huge amount of time?
This was the problem I found myself with when my full time job wasn’t covering my growing cost of living anymore. I needed something else to bring in some extra money each week.
Print-On-Demand is something that can run in the background once you’ve put in some graft upfront. It’s the perfect kind of side hustle that anyone can do.
Many artists and designers can earn real money from their print-on-demand business and maintain it as a part-time hustle or as a full-time…
I love talking about Medium because it’s a great way to connect with the people on here.
So today I want to bemoan the fact that Medium doesn’t consider me good enough for its Creator Fellowship Program.
A bunch of writers have been invited into this program that Medium has slowly been rolling out. The intention is for this to replace the current bonus payment that 2000 writers have been receiving.
Of the 3 bonus payments that Medium has made, I was the recipient of 2 of them. …
Instagram considers itself to be a video platform now.
What was once the premier online destination for photo sharing now fancies itself as a TikTok rival.
Yeah, I was shocked too. Instagram was great for sharing photos and spreading a little joy. The platform has always done well as a social media tool for creators and businesses but it felt a little more personal.
TikTok is king right now as far as business growth and visibility are concerned. It’s no surprise that the likes of Instagram and YouTube what a piece of that.
Unlike TikTok (which will let you schedule…
It’s been one week since my 30-day challenge ended and I’m ready to talk about it.
I failed. I had my best month ever on Medium.
I failed. I had a viral article.
I failed. Even in defeat, I can hold my head high.
I say I failed but not even I really believe that. I set a number of goals for myself and the only one I didn’t meet was publishing 30 articles.
I’ll break it all down in just a moment but I want to take a moment to thank everyone who read my work, who engaged with…
My disappointment was insurmountable when I dropped out of University for the second time.
It’s a familiar story, University was just too costly for me. My debts were spiraling out of control and no matter how much time I traded for money I couldn’t get it under control.
Eventually, it started to affect my coursework and the painful truth revealed itself: this wasn’t going to work out.
The disappointment I felt was something that I couldn’t shake. It weighed heavy on my mind and leaked into most parts of my life. Little did I know, I was about to enter…
Good news for writers, Medium is experimenting with minimum payments. The company is looking to explore new ways to remunerate its population of writers.
Its new minimum payments are going to replace the ‘one-time’ bonus offered to top writers during April, May, June, and July.
The new minimum payment appears to be in the testing phase and is currently only being offered to a select few writers.
The current bonus system is set to end in July and Medium has promised that new incentives will take place from August onwards. …
“Did you guys have sex last night?”
Some curious friends asked my girlfriend and me as we walked down the stairs. It was a house party and our relationship was very new so of course, people wanted the gossip.
Immediately I stepped forward with my fists in the air like the King I am as I proclaimed that I rocked her world.
The truth was that we didn’t have sex, it wasn’t even discussed. We’d just gone to sleep. I was a virgin, she was not.
Ever the jokester my girlfriend instantly responded with:
“No, he couldn’t get it up.”
Money, sex, power. Rock and roll’s the devils work. Follow me, it’s the 21st century.
